"We had a fabulous two days at Finca La Anita. Pablo and Ana were fabulous hosts and we truly enjoyed learning from their knowledge of all things Costa Rican, especially the history and quality of chocolate and coffee. We stayed in cabin 8 which was comfortably rustic with a refrigerator. We found the temperature in mid Feb to be approx 10 degrees C cooler than the coast. "This place is a hidden gem! The rustic cabins are well maintained and clean. A short walk from the cabin and you arrive at the restaurant where the food is amazing and reasonably priced. The hosts were so nice and helpful, making suggestions for our hikes and other options for dinner (although we ate on site 4 times it was so good). Our kids miss Lucky and Domino and wanted to take the puppies home :-) I would definitely recommend!"

"We stayed in the dome tent and it was amazing! We had a beautiful view when we woke up in the morning. There were showers and a mini fridge available too. The food at the ranch is amazing! The cook is wonderful. The jacuzi, pool, and animals were also a great add on to a wonderful stay!"

"Truly one of a kind! We stayed in an east bungalow surrounded by forest, monkeys, birds and the sound of the waterfall. Each bungalow is private and well appointed. From the staff to the food to the pools and activities, it is a 5 star experience all around. Just over an hour from LIR airport, this should be on your list of places not to miss while in CR."

"The villas are great, well equipped, spacious and comfortable. The property is beautiful and the dogs are the best part. So are the horses, goats, cows and chickens. "Villa el Tucan is a gem with impeccable service! Bijagua is a cute little village close to Rio Celeste with this new adorable lodge. The owners thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and memorable. The cabins are cozy, clean, airy, and they even have screens on their windows and sliding glass door. Great lil porch to relax and enjoy the view. They even added a short walking trail to a refreshing river! They have thought of everything! "

So special

" This is one of those really special places that makes you sad to leave and wanting to return. The bungalows are simple yet really well thought out. There are special touches like fresh cut foliage in the bathroom and lots of surfaces to place your belongings. Each bungalow feels very private as they are situated in such a way that the private decks look over lush grounds. The hammock is a wonderful place to hang out and see wildlife. We saw many amazing things including toucans from our bungalow, and sloths by walking the grounds of this adorable place. We had beautiful breakfast delivered right to our door each morning. Everything was so delicious and you could feel the care and love cooked into each bite. The walking gardens were so natural and serene and private. For picky sleepers, like I normally am, the bed is firm and it's not pitch black or silent, but I didn't care as I left the drapes and window open and A/C off to hear the birds, the rustle of the palms and the nearby stream. Full immersion is where it is at. We truly loved this place and would definitely visit again. "
