"Bit of a bumpy start. Check in 45 minutes later after being given our key to a family room that had not been cleaned at all. And the other 2 rooms not ready either. Deputy manager did sort it out in tyne end and complimentary drinks which was nice. Food in the restaurant was fine. Hotel rooms were nice. Treatments were good and relaxing. "Lovely stay at Ramside. First time we have been here and we will be back. Staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly. Room was nice, only issue was that it smelt a bit damp when we walked in but opened patio doors and aired it and was ok afterwards. Lovely clean rooms. Beds not the most comfortable. Pillows were lumpy and a double/king size bed would be better than 2 beds put together, kept falling down the middle. Next time may look to upgrade to a premier room. "Enjoyed our stay my only criticism would be we were not in the main hotel and had a view of the car park. We had to cross over the carpark for breakfast so if it was raining could really spoil your breakfast vibe. The room also had very poor lighting so was very hard to read at night and in the day. "

"Looked for a cheap overnight hotel in Middlesbrough, and found Longlands. Rooms were simple, shared toilets and showers as advertised, but clean and tidy. There was a problem with the boiler, affecting the central heating, but the receptionist provided a portable electric heater when it couldn't be sorted. Showers were electric so worked, and were nicely fitted out. I added the breakfast, which was really good value. "

"Lovely hotel, staff fabulous. Pool is smaller but went in the morning and quiet, enjoyed the steam room and jacuzzi. Would have liked to have information on times of breakfast and the pool, but easily got information when asked. Breakfast was lovely too. Well definitely re visit"

"Lovely traditional English guest house hotel. Simple arrival and check out, good breakfast with great options (menu choice, vegan, veggie, gf etc). Friendly staff, comfy bed (my ‘single’ was a small double) and no noisy air con/heating systems etc. A steep walk up from the city centre but not too far and no problem for me."
