"I stayed here recently for business, and found the hotel to be a slightly dated design. Hotel staff and porters were exceedingly helpful, but service was very slow in the dining hall (probably as we were a big group). "I was just coming off a tour and had an extra night to spend in Arusha. Rather than spend the night in the tour hotel I decided to try Mc-Elly's for about 4x LESS the price. The area in the daytime is a bit chaotic (industrial area) but it's the real Africa not what I saw in the tour hotel. As soon as the sun goes down it was very quiet. Loved sitting out on my balcony. Breakfast was great, lots of variety and the manager of the hotel even greeted me asking me how I found everything. Nice...

"The place is what you pay for I guess. You'd think £60 would go farther in Tanzania but apparently not, Arusha is expensive. Basically, rooms are like prison cells, bathrooms terrible, and it took a few tries to find a room with working aircon. Staff were friendly enough if a little inefficient. What is with having to ask for toilet paper all the time - just have some in the room, its a basic necessity!!!"

"$60 per night is not a lot but you dont get much either.Area outside hotel very noisy,shower has no hot water,lift did not work.If you are desperate stay here but you can probably find lower standard hotel cheaper and better !"
