Although property is old fashioned, my single room, with en suite was very clean and bed was comfortable The breakfast cerea,l yogurt etc was an unexpected bonus. "I stayed 3 nights in this lovely public house (the Sun Inn, Acomb). It didn't have big town amenities, but it was fine for me as I wanted to visit and walk parts of Hadrians Wall. "The staff, the food at both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Parking is just across a quiet road. Our room however left us literally cold. Old building, 'wavy' floors, single glazed casement windows facing the prevailing - brisk - wind and an outside temperature of close to freezing. Then the heating gets switched off for the night !
