"Birds farm is a lovely place to stay for the local Essex or Sussex area. Very quiet in the evenings, despite being just off a busy road. A few issues with room (no.5), water not draining from bath, mirror light not working. I know maintenance will be sorting these out soon, probably already sorted! "The staff were very helpful. The location was perfect. The room by the courtyard garden was quite cold for a stay in January, the bed had a thin fleece blanket over the duvet, but could do with something thicker for January. Breakfast had a brilliant selection, and the staff were very attentive."

"Rooms were spacious and clean, nicely decorated. The staff were awesome, so friendly and welcoming. Even members of the gym that we used were super helpful and friendly. An area of little toys for little ones was unexpected as well as an outdoor play area. "

Great value for money

"We had room 9 which had an upstairs with twin beds as well as the double room down stairs. Plenty of space for just my friend and I. Beds very comfy, and we loved having our own outside space at the back. We couldn't put our finger on what the slight odour was in the room, but it didn't spoil our stay, so we didn't report it. The breakfast was absolutely gorgeous! as was our meal the night before. This place is very good value for money, and I would stay here again. "

"The Rose and Crown was a lovely timber framed building but with modern facilities. The room was large, warm and comfortable with a couple of easy chairs which were an added bonus. The shower was good and easy to use. The breakfast was well presented and good and the staff were all pleasant and created a relaxed atmosphere"

An excellent overnight city stay. Value for money.

"Friendly welcome. Tidy well proportioned room. Some street noise but not enough to interfere with good comfortable nights sleep. Rooms away from street available. Nice clean bathroom with very efficient shower. Breakfast served to table arrived as order and good quality. Again staff curteous efficient and well presented. Will stay there again. "
