"The room was very nice, although we were a little surprised about the open cistern (partially covered by plexi-glass) in the room. I guess that is what it means to be in a cave hotel! "The Quarry Resort exceeded all our expectations. From the minute we parked our rental car at an offsite location we were quickly driven to the hotel. Porters took our luggage down cobblestone streets and stairs to the hotel. The location of the hotel is a wow moment. The setting amongst the Sassi is one of a kind. "This is a property in the Sasso Caveoso in Matera, the most incredible and one of the most ancient places on earth. The views of the Sassi and the caves are incredible and the room carved in the rock was spacious and comfortable. I would have added a TV close to the bed and a second sink in the bathroom but altogether the place is great. Very good service ans evryone is superfriendly and helpful.
