"My spouse and I booked the Fosshotel Hellnar as a stop on our Iceland road trip. It ended up being the perfect location to stop after 1 day travel from Reykjavik and partway around the Snaefellsnes peninsula. We were cold and tired by that point and the Fosshotel was so comfortable on our arrival. The fireplace in the lobby was very inviting. The room was spacious, comfortable and the heated bathroom floor tiles were such an appreciated luxury to us that day. We enjoyed dinner at the hotel...

"I came in early winter. Very much the low season. In winter the place feels truly remote, a refuge from the world, which is what I came for. There are a couple easy thing they can do for low-season guests below. The building interior was nice and warm. It was a very nice refuge from the cold, The room was so warm that even with the thermostat all the way down I was overheating until I cracked a window. Yes, in an Icelandic winter. The hot bath is the highlight of the property and my main reason...

"Very spacious and comfortable, quiet apartment overlooking the sea. Very well equipped kitchen and only problem we had was choosing which of several options to sit to enjoy the views! Only minor criticism was bathrooms a bit tatty but clean and functional. Village is easily walkable to enjoy the murals and views. On the edge of the national park as well. Mural Restaurant in Adventure Hotel, 5 minutes walk away is a superb treat for a good meal. "

"Life on a horse farm, with beautiful Icelandic show horses, was terrific. Fully appointed kitchen and outdoor grill meant we could cook up a storm and grill some tender lamb for dinner. The owners were welcoming and the horses were gentle and beautiful. Location was perfect for the Gerduberg basalt cliffs and the gorgeous coastal hike from Arnastapi to Hellnar on the Snaefellsnes peninsula. Four adults were comfortable sharing the cottage."
