"I came in early winter. Very much the low season. In winter the place feels truly remote, a refuge from the world, which is what I came for. There are a couple easy thing they can do for low-season guests below. The building interior was nice and warm. "My spouse and I booked the Fosshotel Hellnar as a stop on our Iceland road trip. It ended up being the perfect location to stop after 1 day travel from Reykjavik and partway around the Snaefellsnes peninsula. We were cold and tired by that point and the Fosshotel was so comfortable on our arrival. The fireplace in the lobby was very inviting.
