"A lovely hotel, full of character in the heart of Tewkesbury. The room was very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. I was impressed at how bottled water and tea bags etc were topped up everyday (not something that happens in every hotel in my experience). The staff were very friendly, helpful and obliging, nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant had a good selection of dishes for dinner. The hotel is close to the bus stop for Cheltenham and Gloucester. "

"I would like to say a huge thank you to all the staff for an amazing stay.As soon as I approached the reception the staff made me feel welcome and was very helpful. My room felt like home from home it was warm and welcoming with the little touches on the tea tray, to the cosy bedding and water next the bed.The bathroom had luxury products and I liked that they refill them. "The room was just as shown on the photos. I had seen some negative reviews so had some apprehension, but there were no problems on our visit. Comfortable beds, hot water, good heating, reasonable carpet; 24/7 Asda shop and other facilities at the service station. No fridge or cooking facilities, but I took a microwave and had no problems. Overall the property seems to have some maintenance issues with various buckets strategically placed to catch drips in the foyer and one corridor: but...

"The staff is amazing. The breakfast at a small extra fee was delicious. It is in the middle of the historic downtown Gloucester which I hope the city continues to renovate. The only reason I didn’t give it a five star rating is that the WiFi is spotty in the rooms. The owners have embraced their history; the ambience is charming and looks like it is from a different time. "
