"Huge hotel opposite Kyoto Station with a view of the many Shinkansens pulling in and out of the station. Surprisingly quiet Miyaka Hotel was clean, well appointed and staff informative. Kyoto being a major city, was busy! A concentration of tourists meant planning early to beat the crowds. I mean really early! Restaurants in abundance at Aeon Mall beside the hotel or across the road at The train station. "

And being just across the street from Kyoto station was amazing - so easy to get anywhere then back again, and so many wonderful dining options just across the street! "We had a very comfortable stay despite only staying one night. We stayed in a standard single bed for 2 travelers - the room felt a bit small with our 2 checked luggage and 2 carry-ons, it can feel especially tight if you have clam shell style luggage taking up space. The hotel room was quite nice as well, featuring double sinks, tables and chairs, and comfy and easily accessible beds. They are coin op and the additional drying functions are only by 30 min increments. Did 2.5 hours worth of drying for my small load of clothes but still damp so I gave up.
