"It's a budget hotel in a port city. If that's what you love then you'll know this is your place. We went to the night market every night and used the train every day to get to where we need to go in the entire Taipei metro. There is 24 hr pharmacy and convenience store right downstairs. Why pay Taipei rates when you can live in Keelung and watch people wash freshly caught fish on the sidewalk. I'm from a fishing port and this is my home. "

"Probably not the hotel to stay in if you drive. The road leading to hotel is extremely narrow, so stopping to load and unload luggage is a challenge. Parking is also a distant away, and it was full when I arrived leading to quite a bit of wait. Right beside the hotel is a highway ramp, and so there is traffic noise which was thankfully still acceptable but definitely not for light sleepers. Lots food options around the area with morning and night market within walking distance."

"Lovely quiet property. There are a few nice hiking trails nearby and the ocean is only a 20 minute walk away. Tony and his wife are lovely people. They are very friendly and took care of our needs and answered all of our questions. Tony even gave us a ride to the old street and to the Gold museum. Highly recommend and would stay here again. "

"A surprisingly beautiful heritage house renovated into 3 rooms, with windows retained. The way it was built, the decor, and the house was designed by the hospitable host's husband. There was a pond with frogs and crabs in front and at the back of the house. Breakfast included a rice burger. Cozy. The host even showed us the room next door with the original kitchen and oven! This was better than a nice hotel because of how the host took care of us."

"Stayed over in jiufen for a night to experience the quietness of the street and this hotel was amazing. Very affordable price, nice alfresco, afternoon tea and breakfast was included and the dinning area had an amazing view. Would recommend. "

"This place was great! Super clean and convenient to the main road. They also had free breakfast! I think the only suggestion I had was to maybe mark the breakfast items for vegetarians. The front desk did explain to me which ones were okay to eat but my Chinese isn’t the best. But everything else was great!"

"All the staff there are very nice and helpful. They made sure to take care of you, make sure you’re full through their free breakfast. It’s a wonderful villa. Their cat, egg yolk is very adorable! "

It is worth the walk up; it is only a five minute walk down the hill to one entrance of the Old Road - lots of shops as well as tea and eating spots.
