We were there to visit the Battle of Waterloo site. Its not close to the hotel of course but since we have a car it was convenient. Hotel looks newly renovated. Really classy, very spacious and very clean. Love the breakfast. Friendly staff.

The room was average but modern. Good mattress. Rain shower head in the bathroom. It had a pretty restaurant that I had to walk around to get to my room. I had several meals in the restaurant that were good but not outstanding. It has a good local reputation. Unfortunately, I had the breakfast buffet one morning and was food poisoned with intestinal effect within the hour. The food had been out all morning. The hot food was hot, but was obviously not refreshed over the 4-5 hours.

Nice hotel with comfortable beds, great breakfast buffet, friendly staff. No gym, which I would expect for a four star hotel. The restaurant is disappointing and the management doesn’t really seem to value loyalty in its customers, at least they’re not willing to give long-standing customers any special treatment, so service level from that point of view is disappointing.

Bad experience
The bed was uncomfortable. I requested a big bed but was given 2 uncomfortable singles. The room is in a different building than the reception & bar meaning you have to walk outside then in to join the bar & breakfast in the morning. The breakfast quality is not worth the money you pay for. The food is located in a dark area. The jam selection is poor, had no taste to it. The staff were overwhelmed, had to ask for a warm glass of milk and was told “wait” maybe a language barrier.
