"No nonsense stay for Business travellers or backpackers. Clean property with a small seating area, that also serves as a bar, right at the reception. Spacious Bathrooms that may be old but are properly functional. Balconies attached to the room for getting some fresh air. Good bang for your buck if you are not looking to spend lavishly just for the night stays. Safe surroundings with plentiful restaurants and coffee shops within a 5 minute walk."

"It is a very eclectic hotel with unique lounging areas on the different floors. Staff were great and breakfast was good. There was an issue with no curtains or shades on the door to one of the balconies in our room but being on the 3rd floor mitigate any exposure. We will definitely stay again if we are ever in Johannesburg again "

"The place is clean in general but now they are no longer making it a priority to maintain the place. I arrived and the room had pillow cases not ironed and the duvet cover was torn from inside. Early in the morning there was no water at all. Had to ask for a bucket and get water outside from the main tap to bath which was cold."

"This place is nothing as advertised and just a disappointment all around. If you are simply looking for a bed to sleep in and nothing more then it is fine. But the rooms are old and look as though they are hardly taken care of. It felt as though I was at a distant family member's house who wasn't prepared for me to stay the night."

"Foxwood House is a historic building with the main house and several out buildings. I had originally booked Coach House. we arrived in the dark (cause it sets early here) and basically just unpacked, exhausted from long flight. TV was not working so the manager moved us to Onze Emmie suite. WOW loved it. had a lovely patio we enjoyed. large room, large bathroom.the surrounding area is very wild with flowers and vines and walking paths. I'm sure people could find fault with it but I loved the 2 swimming pools, ducks and swans. Hot breakfast is offered along with cold cereal. Killarney Mall is just a few blocks away and has sooo much. this is a very residential area so there aren't alot of area restaurants that I saw. I dropped the area around it to 4 stars because we walked out the mall at the wrong exit for us and sketchy guys sitting at the corner. no reflection on Foxwood at all!"
