"This auberge is situated in the centre of Castellane, with a river at the rear that you can swim in. The breakfast was varied and there was plenty of it, lovely staff who were very friendly and helpful. There is a large rear shaded terrace which was quiet snd you could relax have a drink. Castellane has a friendly, busy but relaxed vibe, plenty to see and do. I would definitely stay again. Ask for a room on the rear so that it is hidden from the buzz of the square. "

Breakfast is excellent and well worth the €16, full of delicious local goods and fresh bread and pastries. Would definitely recommend - beautiful views from the terrace too. It’s a short walk to Moustiers along a path and pavement, and a short drive to Verdon gorge. The pre-check-in information seemed a little officious but once we were there, the staff were very friendly"
