"Excellent beachside location. We got a sea facing room which had stunning views. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean including the indoor pool and SPA. Location was great for restaurants with a variety of dinner options. Lovely hotel, i would love to go back again. "

"Need to make the elevator less scary.... I did not use it after the first time , I was on the 5th floor and the elevator dropped 10-12 inches at the top. Decided to use all 124 stairs instead."

"Room very clean but hot as aircpn did not work and shutter would not raise up. Service at reception and breakfast friendly and efficient. It was a little loud as you could hear all ghe rooms around you so we were glad it was only a stopover hotel for ys but perfect for our needs. "

"The hotel itself is beautiful and within walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants. The staff on reception were especially friendly and helpful and arranged restaurant reservations for us and checked ahead with all these restaurants to make sure they catered for gluten free. The restaurant within the hotel is definitely worth a visit, the tasting menu was absolutely stunning and the staff again were so friendly and knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. A Nice Stay Near the Lucca Train Station

"If you are arriving/departing by train (Lucca) this is an excellent location as Hotel Rex is a couple of minutes walk away. The hotel is also very close to the city's renaissance walls. The hotel has whimsical decorations, a place for children to play, and a good breakfast. A table outside of our room had biscuits on it. I'm pretty sure other rooms had the same treat. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Outside the property was road construction, but it was not noisy. "

"Decided to stay here because of the 5 star reviews and wasn’t disappointed. Yes it’s the opposite side of Lucca to the train station and outside the city walls but it was only a 30 minute walk because Lucca is so tiny. Gave me the opportunity to get my bearings. And only a 5 minute walk back to the wall. Was able to check in just after 11am. Room was huge as was the bathroom & both immaculately clean. And there was a kettle! Breakfast was fantastic and laid out with great care. Lovely selection of croissants, fresh fruit, yoghurt, meats & cheese. Though be aware only one cappuccino or other hot drink is included. And you need to pay the city tax in cash."
