"The location of the property which is close to the Cliff in Varkala. Good sized rooms with balconies facing the sea."

"We had a lovely stay in one of the AC rooms, which had its own small seating area and was very private and peaceful. A haven from the busy Varkala. The gardens here are beautiful and well kept, the staff all sweet and attentive and helpful, available 24hr. The breakfast included at their restaurant nearby was also great. But it was quite loud at night due to neighbouring properties, but maybe due to being there in peak season! "

"Good view of the beach from the hotel room. The sound of the waves helps one have a soothing stay at the hotel. Calm and peaceful place with the famous ‘ cafe sarwaa’ just adjacent to the property! Service was excellent with prompt response from the staff. "

"The reception staff was very friendly. However the room was a disappointment. There was not toilet paper, the sheets were dirty and stained. I had to use a towel on the bottom sheet and slept in my clothes. I booked for two nights and stayed one night and checked out. The location was nice very close to the beach and local restaurants. I would not recommend staying here. "

"Really sweet spot just off the beach up a commerce alley. Jishnu the host was very nice and helpful with getting comfortable. Hot shower if you want it - but I’ve learned to love taking cold showers here - and the bathroom was perfectly clean and well appointed. I will be back here at the Gypsy next year for sure."

"This is one of the more “western”standard rooms in the area. You can stay cheaper but the Indian home stays are a bit of an acquired taste. However here you get the best of both worlds home stay hospitality and modern western accommodation. The location just a short walk to a wonderful local beach at south cliff. I stayed 5 nights . Had great breakfast in the morning . Get Dosa.. Great restaurant just up the road from the beach Mama Chompas. It is really the only game in this part of town ....

"Excellent atmosphere and vibes! Staff is always with a smile and very happy to work. It’s a shame I had planned to move elsewhere or I would have happily stayed at this property. P.s as a foreigner here you can apply for UPI the only way to pay with your card all across India"
