"I enjoyed staying in this large grand hotel near the station for a very reasonable price. The compact room was a bit bigger than expected and the bathroom had a large bath with shower. I only stayed one night but was disappointed that it was advertised with an indoor pool yet that wasn't available due to renovation. Otherwise a very nice stay."

"The location of Old Hall is excellent and this needs to be factored into the price you pay compared to other nearby hotels and the quality of them. Breakfast is fresh and tasty with enough variety and this is included in the price, which many aren't. This hotel offers comfort, my bed was fine, room was spacious. Floor are unlevel, of course they are, it is an old hotel, it has character reminiscent of days past, yes it's worn and needs renovation but to upgrade to meet everybody's needs...

"Another great stay at the Rutland, for the first time I was over the road in the non main hotel accommodation. Everything was fab, shower maybe a bit small but I'm 6-6. First class all round and my evening meal and breakfast also 10/10. love this hotel. The beds are always comfortable, nice touch with the beverages, water and biscuits, faultless as always. The food menu is varied and the drinks menu extensive, my guiness was perfect and the cocktails looked fab too"

"Staff were helpful and great to talk to, and parking was convenient. Actual hotel is a bit of a walk from town centre, so bear that in mind (there is a bus stop within a 5min walk). On the other hand the area was nice and quiet (although I did stay outside of the academic year). Also this hotel has communal kitchens on each floor where you can cook and store leftovers, but there is no restaurant, although the Halifax Hall nearby does if you need a meal."

"We stayed for 1 night to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Our first impressions were that it had a lovely buzz about it and the hotel had been refurbished to a very high standard. The staff were extremely polite, friendly and helpful. Our room was immaculate and had all of the facilities one would expect.
