Uijeongbu Holidays

We missed the hotel the first time around as Myeongdong is very crowded after 5pm and this hotel is lodged in a little no exit alley between an Olive Young and the big Royal hotel, on the 15 floor of the building, near the cathedral. The room was very tiny, looking like the picture on Expedia with a TV and a fridge. We had a private bathroom with towels, toilet, sink and shower but the whole bathroom was the shower. There is no enclosure for that. Self serve breakfast (boiled egg, cherry tomatoe, ham, cheese, bread, butter, strawberry jam, cereal, orange juice, coffee and tea) is available at 7am but you cannot help yourself before even if it is ready. And you need to wash the dishes you used afterwards. Overall, it was a nice one night stay.

Good hotel and location

Great location, however we had the room near the main road which we can hear constructions through the night (faintly, but still ok for sleeping). Overall still a recommended place to stay.

It was our first time staying at Shilla Stay Seodaemun Seoul Station and the experience was great! Prior to going over to Seoul, I had a few queries which I checked with the hotel directly and they were very responsive with their replies. We like the ambiance of the hotel where we felt cosy. The amenities provided by the hotel were basic but nonetheless sufficient for a comfortable stay. The cleanliness was impressive. We will definitely recommend Shilla Stay Seodaemun Seoul Station as an accommodation to other travellers intending to visit Seoul as a holiday destination. This hotel was good but I'm not sure I would come back. We had a room that was in the attached building. There was one window but barely had sunlight, the lights were also very dim even in the bathroom. The room has definitely seen some use and I noticed some damage or weird stains in the bathroom. Our travels included moving a lot of luggage so we really liked the space and storage but compared to other lodging in Korea, we would choose the others first. The staff were very friendly and the location is walking distance to some really hip stores like Gentle Monster and we did not get a chance to eat nearby. I would recommend if you enjoy moodier lighting, traveling a bit lighter, and perhaps alone.
