We enjoyed our stay at this hotel; though the expectations for the room's facilities or condition should be low. The room (Viento del Mar) was very basic, with no air-conditioning and one insect-screen to be able to leave the window open. The ocean view was great, and once you get the the trick of the right currents through the room using the fan and open windows, we slept well. The water in the shower and bathroom doesn't seem right so we should have perhaps brushed our teeth with bottle water. But no serious incidents occurred. The beach has public access and limited hotel users so we were always able to chill out on the sunbeds or chairs. The staff were extremely friendly; the food from across the road at Tamarind was great, though a bit pricey but in line with other restaurants in Tulum. We opted to upgrade our breakfast on occasion for 100pesos and would highly recommend the (vegan) pancakes. The basic eggs were very tasty though! We would book again if we had to return to Tulum. One thing to note is that the road outside the hotel is very narrow and gets easily blocked with cars parking on the side of the road. Walking isn't really recommended in that instance so it makes it a bit hard to get out and buy items from the few stores that are around, unless you use a car. There was water in the room which was a nice added touch and greatly appreciated!

This is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the ocean. It’s not all inclusive so no food line ups or over indulged drinking shenanigans. Many places to find food on the street but breakfast is included across the road at Tamarindo amd was delicious. This is not 5 star luxury, it’s pure, simple and peaceful. Staff are available if needed but otherwise you are left alone to enjoy your time with the ocean , small pool and beautiful nature. Relaxing in the many hammocks available listening to the waves was pure bliss. Rooms were always cleaned with fresh towels. Was a pleasure to meet all the staff, chill in the small lobby listening to beautiful music or read many books available for free and coffee was always ready by 6 am in the lobby to take back to your room and watch the amazing sunrises . This is an original family run little place with charm , peace and tranquility.

Wonderful boutique hotel with uniquely designed bungalows stunning views onto the ocean. Direct access to most wonderful sandy beach . Excellent breakfast included . Staff is outstanding! Many restaurants to choose from in easy walking distance ( they are all a little pricy however). Watch out: this is a music event area with several beach clubs playing electronic music long into the evening/ through the nigjt. If you are looking for absolute quiet then this may not be your place. Avoid January as the traffic on the small beach road can be bumper to bumper.

We stayed at Nueva Vida in our recent 9 day visit to Tulum and we absolutely loved it here. We were not looking for an all inclusive experience and more of the smaller eco lodge and we were not disappoint. Our room (Coral) was easy to get to the main road and just a minute walk to the beach. It was clean, comfortable and included a fan - which made the humidity tolerable. Housekeeping did an amazing job of keeping everything fresh and clean each day. We loved having breakfast included, and the food was quite good. The hotel had beach lounges that were always available which was a huge plus. The Nueva Vida location is extremely convenient as it is a 5 minute walk in either direction to great dining, shopping, and spas. While we had a car, we didn’t really use it much. We absolutely loved our stay here and would highly recommend it if you are looking for an eco lodge feel and not the AI compound feel.

This is a great place stay while in Tulum. The price per night is great for the amenities it has. It has a pool, beach bed, breakfast included, and shopping within walking distance. Your are the beach within a minute. The staff is very helpful as they wheel barrow your luggage for you.

We just returned from an amazing one week stay at Nueva Vida. The property is beautiful, all natural with a rustic jungle feel. The beach is amazing and very quiet during the day compared to some neighbor properties. Going to sleep and waking up to the sight sound of the surf was good for the soul! The staff was very friendly and always made sure to ask if you needed anything. We enjoyed our morning walks to Tamarindos for breakfast. There are many options to eat nearby, you can walk to restaurants and there are two convenience stores nearby. Staff at Tamarindos will also deliver delicious food right to your beach bed. We can see why so many reviewers have returned and can’t wait until we do to!

Staff were very accommodating. Had a nice suite with an amazing view. The suite didn't have A/C. f you are single, there is a nice beach club next to hotel.

We stayed in the Lirio Room. Though the room is surrrounded by palm trees, the beach is less than a 5 minute walk. All paths are sand, and lit up at night. The beach was quiet, not busy, and we did not have trouble locating a tent and beds to use on the beach. There are many vendors but they are not pushy. This is located in the southern hotel zone of Tulum. The most inexpensive restaurants were about $15 American for 1 dish, most average about $25 American per dish. Many vegan options. There is shopping within 5 minutes walk. The shopping is mostly clothing and accessories stores, these stores are "higher end" boutiques with unique bohemian style clothing. Tattoo shops, and dance clubs are close by too. The hotel bathrooms ask that you do not flush toilet paper, or toilets clog.
