Parking is €25 for a full day in the garage nearby. Shops and dining (and bike rentals) are walkable easily. Staff is practically nonexistent, which is okay if you don't need them but if you needed things it would likely be difficult. Plan accordingly.

An very beautifull and original and authentic building and location at the middle of Leiden centre. Nice and very proffesional check in. A wonder full room in Old Dutch style, with a modern smile, great bathroom facilities . Nice possibilty to site outside on the balcony. Warm welcome by the hostess, created un upgrade. Very difficult property to get to if you are not familiar with the roadways. Parking is exorbitant. We did self check in as we arrived late and it was very efficient. Our room was on the fourth floor. There is no elevator, which is not a problem however the multiple staircases were winding and very narrow and quite treacherous. We couldn’t take our bags up. We had to put a few items in small bags/backpack and take them. No bottled water - I’m sure it was tap water in a pitcher. The room itself was quite unique and nicely decorated, however it was very dark, even with the lights on. It was very noisy with street noise, constant bells ringing from the church and on the hour. The two women at reception were lovely and did offer to move us to a lower floor but we were only there two nights and didn’t want to move our things. All in all a disappointing stay.

Have been here a few times and will keep coming back. It is so easy and the rooms are fab. You are 4/5 minutes form the centre of the city and all its wonderful shops, bars and restaurants.

Great central location within walking distance of all main attractions. Really helpful and friendly staff. Pillows were a little hard and too big for us but that's more our personal preference,. The rooms are beautifully decorated and clean, would definitely recommend.

Lovely Hotel, Shame About the Noise

Lovely hotel, great location. Everything you’d need. Nice comfy beds, only wish we could have got some sleep. Very noisy, with people yelling in the street all night and the church next door with full on bells every hour and half hour….yes that’s all the way through the night. At best we’ve managed 6-7 hours of broken sleep over the whole of the two nights we were there. Not really the hotels fault, but there is absolutely no sound proofing, and they do provide ear plugs. Except they don’t tell you about them, so we only found them on the second night. A really small thing, but a niggle when you’ve had no sleep. They didn’t refresh the coffee pods, so we couldn’t get a much needed boost when we crawled out of bed.

I could not sleep in the room the hotel gave me as the church clock right outside my room chimed every 15 mins very loudly, that is 36 times per night, allowing no-one ever to actually get to sleep or rest. I was exhausted. There was no phone in the room. I had to dress again and go down three flights of stairs to speak to the receptionist who told me to wear earplugs. Even wearing industrial strength ear plugs it was impossible to even rest slightly. I climbed down the three flights of stairs again and asked for a room downstairs or at the back of the property to swap me to, however they had none available to swap me to. The owner asked me to book into an alternative hotel and offered a full refund straight away. This is obviously a recurring problem. So I booked into another hotel, climbed up and down the three flights again with my bags and carried them across the city to an alternative hotel. There was three weeks of no action by the owner who promised to contact Expedia to facilitate the refund. Their communication with me has been very poor and still no refund. I am most frustrated by the lack of attention to this matter and my having to come up with all the answers to the problems with this hotel management. The money should have been paid directly back to me 3 weeks ago. They could have actioned it at reception. Do not stay at this hotel as they will rip you off as they have done to me.

Excellent hotel

Everything about this hotel is exceptional. The room is very large and has a sofa also in it; the mattress is fantastic, the location is in the middle of the center of Leiden and the breakfast was very nice. I would definitely come back to this hotel on my next trip.

Fabulous hotel!

Our experience here was amazing! We were upgraded to the Presidential Suite at no extra charge (and didnʻt even ask for the upgrade!) and the suite was truly luxurious! It is located near the university, right in the middle of the area we wanted to explore, so it was perfect.
