Richard was a pleasant, talkative host who has been running this B&B for 16 years. The rooms were reasonably clean (although dead cockroach on the carpet in the morning wasn't a great find). The room was booked only a few days prior to the weekend when not much else was available. "Mountain Spa Retreat" has a slightly different definition in my book, as does "luxury getaway room". This is effectively a house with four smallish bedrooms upstairs. Our luxury room included a queen bed, two armchairs and a TV, a dated shower and toilet, but no bath. House is a little tired, as are the grounds which could do with a weeding in the parking area. The hydro-therapy spa is a mobile spa pool, which we were informed would take 24 hours to heat up. We declined. Not ideal for weekend stays. Richard lays on a good breakfast. Location next to the national park and near town is good. All in all, if you are looking for a B&B experience in a good location, a little over-priced and mis-representative in my book, but a nice host (although his age is probably not helping with grounds maintenance), then this may be okay. If you are looking for a private luxury mountain spa retreat experience, I advise to look elsewhere.
