"This hotel was very, very nice. Definitely upscale but historical. The room was so nice and the very clean. This is my favorite hotel we stayed in while we were traveling in Germany. One plus was you can park right in front. Parking was a big issue at a lot of hotels in Germany. The restaurant was fantastic. Some of the best German food I had in Germany."

"Lovely stay in apartment room. Picked up room key from pub down the road after parking up at the apartment. Easy enough to locate. They left me free beer!! Opposite lovely little cafe which I went to for breakfast. Couple of dining options in the village. Very beautiful place. Even left a kettle and a mug although I didn’t need to use it. TV worked well. Bed was very comfortable. Felt very safe here. "

"So disappointed experience. The heater in the room not work. We were sleep under a small blanket with the cold temperature -1 degree celsius. From the website they show a beautiful breakfast buffet. But when we come to check in was room only no have any breakfast same like they promised. No have any amenity in the bathroom. "

"Ruhig gelegenes Hotel mit guter Anbindung zur Frankentherme. Abendbuffet recht gut. Leider war am letzten Tag eine sehr grosse (50 bis 100 Personen) zählende Kneipensportmanschaft (Dart) angereist die entsprechend weitgehend ungestört bis mindestens 1 Uhr nachts direkt am Hotel laut Krach gemacht haben. Die Polizei hat die laute Musik auf dem Nachbarparkplatz zwar ab 22:30 unterbunden dafür wurde dann aber am Hoteleingang laut geredet und gelacht, und der massive Zigarettenqualm kam im Zimmer 2....

"The stay was comfortable and quiet. I did not use the spa, as I arrived pretty late for my one night stay, but the facility looked very inviting. My only less than stellar note to this property is the lack of an air conditioning system. It was a stuffy summer night and so I needed to have the window open. One or several of my neighbors had a smoking habit which seemed to keep them smoking outside their room all night and into the morning and that smoke consistently entered my room."

"FANTASTIC! Higly recommended!! Tiny city, and the "Hotel" dindt seem big or anything, but i got a room, that was almost bigger than my apartment!!, with a kirchen in common area! When i opened my room-door, i got into a 10 meters hallway!!, and yes, that was all mine!! At the end, to the right, it was a huge bedroom!, and to the left, was a huge bathroom! "Our castle stay was pretty amazing. Very modern rooms and the availability to roam the property made it a great stay. It was also very helpful that the staff spoke English and were so kind. A nice final touch was them sharing a bottle of their wine with us as we departed. A must do!"

"A tall modern hotel near the train station - it is one stop more or less on a tram from the train station, and close enough to walk unless you have oppressive amounts of baggage. Nice breakfast, but not much in the way of dining around that I saw. There was a Lidl across the street where you can get inexpensive food to eat in your room. Downtown Wuerzburg is a few stops away on the tram to the Juliuspromenade stop. The 4 stop ticket for 1.50 euros will cover that. "

"I stayed at the Barthels for two nights, arriving after a very long drive and immediately being able to relax. It’s clean, modern, and comfortable and in an incredible location right in the heart of the old town of Würzburg - I could see the cathedral dome right outside my window! Despite that, it wasn’t noisy and I wasn’t ever woken up to the sound of church bells chiming or street noise. There’s no parking at the hotel but there are so many car parks nearby it wasn’t a problem, and I enjoyed the walk across the Old Bridge every morning to the place I’d chosen to park. The staff were friendly and the overall vibe was great. Würzburg is a pretty city and The Barthels was the perfect base to explore it from."

"A very nice hotel located only a few minutes walk from the center of town. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good and definitely worth buying or adding on as an option when you book. Parking was easy and spacious. The hotel was very clean (apart from the shower head that had a lot of mineral build up which I cleaned off myself to improve the water pressure in the shower). Located right across the road from a school but we didn't experience any noise problems at all. It's centrally located in a safe area and withing easy walking distance to the main town square. Would we stay here again? Most definitely yes! A very nice hotel providing every amenity we needed."

Classy hotel in Wurzburg

"Hotel was conveniently located close to the train station and city centre. Hotel room was very elegant with a comfortable bed, big TV and nice city view from the window. Breakfast was pricey at 18 Euros but very good. Nice staff, I wish we had stayed a bit longer."
