"I stayed here on business with a colleague. The Manager is extremely eloquent and we shared a lovely drink with him at a local bar he was attending. Attention to detail is everything and a way of life here. The way their staff are looked after here is inspiring, the quality of Swiss life shines through is the service. I wouldn’t book anywhere else locally, I’d always choose this hotel in future, given the choice."

"Rooms were superb with many included amenities. Free parking on the street was limited but a nice perk. Just a few steps from the bus stop and very walkable in the old-town of Burgdorf. Will definitely return!"

"Always a fabulous stay at the Berchtold. Super covenient to public transportation, clean, nice rooms, great staff, and great food. If you are there at the holiday season, try to get a reservation in to the Raclette chalet as early as possible since it books up really quickly! The Berchtold is our go-to hotel any time we are in Burgdorf or the Bern region. "

"The La Couronne is in a great location in the middle of the main part of Solothurn, close to shops and local amenities (unfortunately, most of which are closed due to Covid). Car parking is at an off-site local car park just a few minutes walk from the hotel but is expensive. We paid over CHF 43 for around 36 hours. "Due to the holiday season, reception closed at 15:00 hours, so check in was thru an envelope. Rooms are very spacious, bed and showers are good, but it is an ancient structure and building, so don’t expect modern rooms or furniture. Staff when available was very helpful. Great to walk around the area. "

In a quiet alley in the centre of town

"We were welcomed and checked in warmly by reception. We had also pre-registered online by the welcome email from Hotel Baren. Their staff went the extra mile to provide extra latex pillow and fixed the safe locking error when requested. We booked the Comfort room which faces the back of the surrounding buildings but we figured the view is likely to be due to the different sizes of the room. The hotel escape floor plan showed the rooms were different sizes on the same floor. Hotel was an easy walk from the Bern Station. Many historic sites are within 10 to 15 minutes walk from the hotel. The Saturday market was next to the hotel. A very pleasant stay and would stay again. "
