"Very nice and roomy cabin feel. Depending on room you have to walk up snow covered driveway to get to shuttle and main building, with no walkway. Shuttle is very quick, hardly any wait items at all. Couldn’t use pool and hot tub due to not wanting to be so wet and walk back outside down a room in 10 degree weather. Steam room was broken, and no spa services at all. It is not a ski in/ski out so have to take shuttle 150 yards up to market and gondola which is nice then gondola to mountain village...

"This was a stay for my husband and three friends before a backcountry hut trip. I was waiting for my husband to get back before reviewing. He said it was amazing and he wouldn’t stay anywhere else if he was going to Ouray. The service was great, the hot springs were awesome and it was just the perfect spot."

"I liked this hotel and room. The maintenance in my room was below par, bugs in the bathroom light fixture. Fireplace didn't work. Disappointed that the restaurant wasn't open. "

"Right on the main drag through Salida so convenient. Room was nice. We heard our neighbors a bit more than in some hotels but it was a weekend. Not set up for convenient phone charging (USB and a multitude of power plugs). Nice lobby ambiance. Breakfast area was small but you could always go back to your room. "

"Our room was clean, comfortable and convenient to walk to the slopes. The bar area had a very good deal for pizza and a beer. Our room had a view of the slopes which was nice. I thought it was an excellent value. The only thing I didn’t like was the lack of luggage carts at checkout. There are plenty of carts, but I think people take them to their rooms and hoard them until they want to check out. There were 3 rooms sharing one cart for a period of one hour. "We’ve stayed at The Loyal Duke many times in past years and this year. This stay brought a little disappointment as our room wasn’t as clean as before. Upon unloading our car I noticed what appeared to be dog hair all over the floor and on the couch. The floor didn’t appear to have been cleaned. The Duvet cover had a huge rip in the center and the fitted sheet had stains. The baseboards needed a good wipe down and behind the TV and microwave needed to be cleaned. "This was a nice property close to Main Street and plenty of food options. It was a little pricey for the size of the room and only a queen bed. The room itself was nice. Downfall is you can hear a lot of noise, people opening and closing doors talking dogs barking. But the property is aware of this and provides ear plugs. Nice treats and in room amenities."
