"Very well maintained and constant refurbished hotel since Showa period. Full of nature attractions. Dinner & breakfast are excellent. Hotel did many activities In conjunction w 70th anniversary. Souvenir shop has lots of Hokkaido related items. We can even observed deers in the wild. 3 big Onsen bath with excellent views. Due to very remote position, better to have self drive to for better access. "

"Upon arrival we felt like we had arrived at the Shining hotel just as described in an earlier review, but at 3pm its lights on and showtime! Buses and cars arrive and the reception desk comes to life! After a botched car rental ( thanks Expedia : ( - we took the bus from Kamikawa which was easy and cheap.
