"An absolute gem of a pub. The room was tastefully decorated with lots of extra little touches, like tea lights in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the claw foot bath was gorgeous, with toiletries provided and piping hot water. Perhaps a flannel to wash with would be good and the bottom of our mugs were tea stained which was a bit off-putting but that’s all I’d be picky about. "We were really impressed considering how affordable our room was. It wasn't in the prettiest building but it was very clean and comfortable with a lovely shower. The estate itself is stunning and the house lovely and comfortable. The breakfast was top notch with a huge selection of nice quality food. We stayed with a 2 yr old and a cot was smart up for us on request. Staff were kind and understanding. Really good all round. "

Nice village setting

"This B&B is in a nice setting. Although it’s on the main road, it’s quite set back and the pub being just opposite this makes for a lovely combination. There is also a convenience store along the road if you wanted to get a morning newspaper etc. The room was very spacious which was nice. Just had to be careful of the beams. The only thing I didn’t enjoy personally was that the owner was quite headmistress like in terms of rules and what she wanted, which basically made us feel like kids being told off, which is not something I want when paying £118 for an overnight stay, but my partner says that perhaps B&Bs are not for me. Back to standard hotels I think…."
