Glenn Eshelman, the founder of the Sight & Sound Theatres, started his artistic career selling paintings and photographs out of the back of his car. In 1964, he presented his photography at a local church using a slide projector and narrating with a microphone. The audience response was very positive, making this first Sight & Sound show an inspiration for further development. By the mid-1970s, Glenn and his wife Shirley were taking their multimedia presentations to audiences across the country. In 1976 they officially began the Sight & Sound Theatres in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The twin Branson theater opened in 2008. Be inspired by this real-life story of a young boy who grew up on a dairy farm in rural Pennsylvania and ended up creating a successful theater company.
