"The Lion Hotel is a warm, welcoming, cheap and cheerful hotel. Service at reception is excellent and staff are so friendly and helpful. If there was an award for a hotel with the creakiest stairs and floors this could win it! Interior is dated and needs a refresh. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Location was perfect for our weekend in Shrewsbury. Customer service is excellent. When we return to Shrewsbury for another weekend break, we'll definitely consider coming back to The Lion Hotel."

"The room was good except that it was very cold, the radiator was turned up high but the room never got warm. The duvet was only Summer weight so we had to use a towel and our coats to try and keep warm. Breakfast was continental and good, but a full English would have been preferred after a cold night! The ladies who served breakfast were lovely. We had dinner in the restaurant which was very good. "

"Nice place to stay here if visiting Shrewsbury area. Food good at Breakfast, although became nervous when waitress was leaning across you to serve orange juice, this could have been avoided with small decanted bottles put on tables to use if required. Breakfast not a relaxing experience when the waitress who was very friendly was rushing around puffing and panting as she passed very close to our table repeatedly as we were next to the kitchen entrance. Would stay there again when epidemic is...
