This hotel was very easy to find and close to the transit system. Our check in was fast and easy, and the room was very well appointed. Excellent room and when we were a little too warm, front desk brought up a fan right away-would recommend the Monterey and would stay there again if we were in the area

1. The hotel is 3 minute walk from Sendai Station and is close to restaurants and shopping area. 2. Good size room with reasonable price 3. Good customer service 4. free Onsen with one free beer and big lounge

Staff was incredibly helpful and patient with us and helped us get into our rooms early. This is a beautiful hotel with a ton of character. It’s close to everything we needed and an easy walk with luggage from the train station. We will come again!

I arrived at the hotel and realized I didn't have my passport. I had accidently left it at my hotel the previous day in Sapporo. Immediately the staff called up the JR Inn in Sapporo and told them where I'd be in two days in Tokyo and mailed it to my hotel. All with no cost to me. I thought I'd have to ride several hours back up to Sapporo to retrieve it and they laughed it off and said no we'll have it delivered for you. Can't thank those people enough. Now for the actual hotel: fantastic. Hardwood floors, thick wooden doors, wonderful mid 20th century construction; it feels like you're getting transported back to the 1950's. Very comfy bed, lots of pillows, very large bathroom; I have nothing bad to say about the joint and again the staff bent over backwards for me. If I ever come back up to Sendai, I'm booking the Monterey. Well worth every single penny.
