I've stayed at the Sawari many times and it it very conveniently located. This last trip was my first time eating at the restaurant there and the food was not all that great, so I won't be doing that again. One of my traveling friends had to get another room because his bed (sheets) had hair from a prior guest. My room wasn't too clean but at least the bed had clean sheets / cover.

Great location in town, you can walk to a few places to eat. But the hotel is very average. Nothing wrong with the place. Its functional. Bed, shower, bar. But for the price I paid there are other options in the area that have better room options - like a fridge in the room, balcony for drying wet suits, etc. The rooms are clean, wifi was hit or miss, hot water was hit or miss but the bar open late. Staff was nice and helpful.

Loved the two guys at the check in counter, SUPER helpful and friendly and kind and courteous. Our room is clean and comfortable. Our first time in this area, we arrived at night so I cannot describe San Carlos. We are heading to bed and will get up @ 7am for breakfast and then head on the road again.
