Independent, Saint David's Island hotels

"There is shops about 4 miles away in the town of Hamilton. You could take a bus if you don’t suffer from Orthopedic problems because it’s a lot of steep uphill walking to the bus stop. I used a cab to get from A to B. My biggest problem was the pump in the utility room 3 doors down from my room which was beachfront and pricey kept banging throughout the day and night disturbing my sleep.The hotel offered another room after the problem wasn’t corrected to sleep at night. That room was a cheaper booking and another steep climb!!House keeping was friendly. On the day of checkout the woman at the front desk handed me a bill for 150.00 dollars more than Expedia booked me for. She called the manager and had to accept my original quote from Expedia ,but complained that I was underpaying!! Coffee pot was broken in the room. Housekeeping could only find me a kettle that I gladly excepted. The beautiful beach is the only reason I would recommend this hotel.However the majority of the staff were kind."

"Very clean. Attentive staff. Restaurant host and servers and room attendants make attempt to learn your name, get to know you. Beach not huge but secluded and very quiet. Sand is fine granular, tan-faint pink. Water is amazing of course. Went off-peak and hotel probably only 25% full. Never had a proble getting prime chair location on the beach or cabana. Overall very amazing and would consider going back again next time we are in this island paradise!"

"My husband and I stayed at this resort and loved it. It had so many unique features like the grotto, cathedral cave, and so much more. Loved the beach and the little cove, the beach was convenient, clean, and perfect for relaxing and swimming. There was not one but two Shopify recks off shore that you could swim to or rent a kayak. In the cove we saw so many fish and birds. It was a treat exploring the property. The location was ideal as well with a bus stop, dinning, and other activities (the blue hole, Crystal cave) within a short walking distance. It was also near the rail trail which had scenic views of the ocean the entire way. The staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back"

"This is a lovely property with spectacular views. Our room was spotless and we were welcomed warmly with help with our bags and information to help us settle in. A couple of considerations when staying there before the busy season starts: The ferries do not run on the weekend at this time so you will need to take taxis. Some businesses are running on a reduced hours schedule. I would definitely stay here again!"
