"The hotel and general area was very peaceful. The hospitality was great, and the staff made us feel right at home. The view from the hotel is amazing, being close to both the mountains and the lake. It was also very convenient to drive to beautiful cities, such as Bern, Thun, the local Brienz, and Grindelwald is also not too far. Certainly has a more cottage vibe, but it adds to the experience. Would 10/10 recommend for an authentic Swiss experience."

"The property has great views of the lake and is convenient to get to if you have a car. If not you have to take the boat to get to the hotel. The only problem we had during our stay was the limited options of food available as there are no restaurants nearby besides the hotel restaurant."

There are many nice walking trails in the city, and the train ride to Lake Brienz is very short and convenient. "We were in Austria but the rains closed all the trains. We decided to go to the Interlaken area. Hotel Alpenrose was the only hotel that wasn’t double our budget. It is really more of a cozy bed and breakfast than a hotel. It was a little bit out of the way but the trains are so easy in Switzerland than it wasn’t an issue. The ride back gave us time to get caught on emails and send pictures and texts friends and family. We would stay there again. "
