Hotels near Rio Bravo Conservation Area

"On arrival there was a friendly welcome from Nate and although we were early our room was ready. The hotel has a bar and restaurant which operates separately from the hotel, it's called The Deck. It is open most of the day and  looks out over the lake which is really pleasant and good for spotting various birds and small crocodiles.  The restaurant is supposed to be closed on Tuesdays but luckily they were open when we were there. Best to check. The hotel office can help with tours if needed. They arranged the Lamanai boat tour for us which we really enjoyed. We were happy with our room which was huge, with a very big comfortable bed, and it had a balcony. There was plenty of hanging space. The air-conditioning worked well. There was a hairdryer in the room and also a TV. We wanted to watch some TV, maybe see some local channels, as we relaxed in the room in the evening, but we could only get the apps to work, such as Netflix, intermittently. The bathroom had some toiletries and plenty of towels and loo roll, however due to limescale around the taps and shower it meant that the water didn't flow very well. The shower was just a trickle really. Orange Walk Town is around 8km away so you need your own car or a taxi to get in for dinner. We decided to stay in the hotel, and the dinners we had there had plenty of choice, and we really enjoyed everything we ate over the 4 evenings. All staff were really friendly and helpful."

"This was one of the best parts of our trip. Marcela was AMAZING, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful experience. She arranged excursions for us, made sure we had transportation to the location, introduced us to local food, and so much more!! The location, rooms, and grounds were beautiful and the breakfast and dinners were fantastic as well. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in the treehouse and the space was perfect. We cannot say enough about how wonderful The Green Valley Inn is. We will definitely be going back! "

"James was a very polite and a gracious host. He showed us around the property and gave us some very useful info about were to eat and the things to see around Ladyville. He has equipped the 2 bedroom apartment extremely well. Just basically need your clothes and yourself for a quiet relaxing stay. We felt extremely safe on his property and walking the town. The pool and palapa in the back yard was an added bonus. We wished we could have spent more time back there but we can't control the weather! I would highly recommend his place as it is very close to the airport and any excursions can be handled easily from his place. The views from the large balcony were beautiful as well giving us extra space to sun ourselves. 2 couples have more than enough room! "

"Chan Chich is an exquisite adventure melding together experiencing Mayan Ruins, jungle experience with a conservation twist. We loved our daily interactions with staff to include Cali who is an expert mixologist, Emil who made everything look easy, Sean who always had a smile, and the wonderful cook Ian. Every meal was absolutely amazing! Maria and Abdiel took care of all our needs at reception including booking excursions and chartering flights. And of course our expert guides Ruben and Louise who knew every bird and the Gallon Jug Flora and Fauna like professors. They are able to share their knowledge about archaeology, medicinal plants, and wild edibles. They know every animal and animal trail and to be on a tour with them in action is truly an experience of a lifetime! I would tell all my friends about this location and go back again!
