"Stayed here with husband and teenage son, excellent having our own rooms and bathrooms, lounge was large and plenty of room to relax I , balcony was spacious and perfect for plane watching, afternoon drinks and relaxing at night time. Apartment was furnished tastefully, beds were comfortable, extremely clean when arrived and beds made and fresh towels daily, walkable distance to CBD, pool was cold in the afternoon as on eastern side but visited in winter, in the summer would be lovely. ALL staff were lovely and helpful, however, the staff in the restaurant were above and beyond helpful and gracious (in particular, Sara, our waitress made us feel so welcome we felt part of the Oaks family). "Hotel is near to the airport only 5 minutes by taxi. Taxi's at Cairns airport are difficult to find so pre book. Hotel is close to all touristy places and esplanade. Check in was very easy with front desk informing me of various options and facilities of the hotel. Hotel has a lush garden in the middle with a stream running through it. Building appears to be old but rooms are modern. Breakfast is amazing with pancakes, soups , regular items plus array of fruits with a very lovely young hostess taking out time to have chat with us making us feel comfortable . Hotel pool under renovation but can use the other property pool. It is not very close though. The day we wanted to go was also raining so we gave up the idea instead there is an infinity pool on the esplanade which is fun with great BBQ areas. City is surrounded by mountains so the views are very good. Travel desk lady very nice and informative. "
