Lovely old building but poorly appointed accommodation and poorly maintained. Friendly obliging owners but hardly ever around. Very nice restaurant downstairs that operates from Wednesday to Sunday. It closes early at 8:30 9:00 p.m. so no bother with noise level. Fabulous location. All day parking only available in side streets nearby. Amenities and facilities are not as mentioned - very poor quality. Best to bring everything that you may need for a more comfortable stay. It's hard to see how this accommodation gets three stars -perhaps it's because of the location.

An air conditioner would have been a welcome addition. The window was very stiff and difficult to open.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
We enjoy staying at this property it is conveniently located, it is in its original state, so be mindful the bathroom is in the hallway and shared by all guests. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable.
It was a beautiful building and the bed was comfortable if you want an ensuite this isn’t the place for you but the shower and toilets are clean and not far from rooms! Staff were lovely and very helpful would stay again.
only one very old mens toilet (pan) with two showers
womans was very modern ( 3 toilets & two showers
evan so - too few for amount of people staying there
very limited parking at rear of building
nobody ever at reception & no contact phone number
24 hour kitchenette is a joke and was dirty
restaurant below us was very noisy up to 9.30 pm
lost power at 1 of 2 power points for 3 days
no wi-fi for a day until i tracked down the correct wi-fi
tea , coffee and milk left in the room was pathetic
the only good thing about this place was the bed
I do not understand why expedia would have a place like this on their books to recommend
We enjoyed our stay albiet brief! Our room was warm and cosy and the bed extremely comfortable; what more could one ask! Sally, at the desk, was most hospitable, very friendly and welcoming.
We were delighted with our room. The presentation, cleanliness and access to a bar downstairs and clean facilities was very pleasing.
The staff in the bar / restaurant downstairs were lovely and we would definitely come back again!
Disappointed, the place looked beautiful from the outside and has a great location. But inside there is a sad air of neglect with paint peeling off walls, the mens bathroom has mould, furnishings are worn and tired, and it’s in desperate need of a deep clean with layers of dust visible in many places (on the fake plants, top of mirror in women’s bathroom, fireplace in bedroom).
It also felt like I was staying in a hostel with extra charges if you wanted your room cleaned during your stay or extra towels.
This is the first time I’ve left a review like this and I hope the feedback is taken onboard because it has potential to be lovely.
Wouldn’t recommend in the current state.

Stayed here whilst we went on the Blues Train. Easy walk from the ferry and to the train station. Shops, cafes etc on your doorstep. Lovely old building. Main door with after hours passcode needs attention, as we struggled to gain entry after many attempts, even with assistance from other returning guests. Lunch and dinner is available in their restaurant. Never saw any staff at check in or exit, just a staff member in the bar area.
Old world accommodation in the centre of town, very convenient to shopping and restaurants and the station for Blues & Q Train. Whilst the building is old and remains in original character, some upgrades to the shared bathroom facilities would be a good investment, however if you’re after a comfy large bed for a 1 night stay, this accommodation is satisfactory!
This is a historic property so the facilities have character but I excellently maintained. The art and design of the interior is beautiful and modern.
We enjoyed our stay at Circa and will return next year!
