"The owners go out of their way to make you comfortable. They organized our 4 days of sightseeing with a guide. We also rented our car from them which makes it a great place to stay. Would highly recommend and hope to return to their beautiful oasis and Island. "

"By mainland standards, this is an unusual property. There is no signage indicating the hotel. The hotel is up a hilly driveway and what looks like the lobby near street level is for a different hotel. The owners and staff are very nice and live on the property, which is in a relatively quiet residential neighborhood. The hotel has a nice breakfast but they do not provide eggs. "My experience of the hotel Ohana was excellent. We really couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The hotel was absolutely spotless and welcoming, but the best part and selling point of this place, are the staff! The staff are all amazing especially Joan the manager! And I’m sorry I don’t have her name, but the head chef was absolutely top of her game!!! Everything she prepared was amazing and top quality, but lunch was amazing as evidenced by the photos attached! Thank you all! Definitely hope to return during January/February festival time!!!"

"We liked everything about this property! Odette met us at the airport, arranged tours for us, gave me a number for a taxi and showed us around the town. She is great! You can walk to town but it is a bit far and sometimes it’s hard to get a taxi if you are dining late. That is the only downside to this location. It’s about a 20 minute walk to the best restaurant which is doable!"

"This was an unforgettable experience and it would not have been the same if we stayed annywhere else. We were met at the airport by María Paz and greeted with leis. She was lovely. gave us a quick tour of the town and then brought us to the Cabana. It’s a short walk into Hanga Roa. It’s all down hill about 15 minutes, but it can feel long in the humidity. There’s little food shops along the way. We rented bikes the first day, then a car from the Henua Iti for the rest of our stay. It was seamless. Having the car is a must. They were also very helpful in getting us set up with a local tour guide. I would highly recommend talking to the team rather than booking online prior to your trip. Hannah & Dylan"

"The staff at Tupa hotel is very helpful and speak excellent English. This is not an island where you find luxury hotels. The facilities are well-worn and basic. Given you accept that, you would do well to book Tupa hotel for the kindness and service. Bed was comfortable. Storage plentiful. Location convenient and they were wonderful about picking me up at the airport and taking me back. On time and efficient. I had an ocean-side room with a sliding door that opened on a mini-patio. One thing you should know is that the cleaning person always left the sliding door open to air out the room. This helps prevent mildew in this tropical climate. So don't leave valuables lying around. This wasn't an issue for me since I don't travel with any valuables other than my passport and money, which I keep with me at all times. One thing I wish I knew before I went was that they can book you tours at the hotel. I booked separately and had an awful experience on the tours. Check with them about tours when you reach out to book. A beautiful island that is still rustic."

"When we arrived at the property we found out that we didn't have a reservation with the hotel-even though Expedia had said that we were booked- so that was quite a surprise as you can imagine !With the island being heavily booked we were worried but the front desk lady was so wonderfully good that she took control of our situation and found us a spot at another hotel right next door for one night. Without her, it would have been terrible ! She was the best !! The hotel was lovely and in a perfect location and the breakfasts were great. The grounds were lovely and ideal for relaxation ."
