The roof garden was nice, the restaurant was not open the night we went so it was very dark and no seating available unless you went down a floor, still dark and small but quaint. "Incredible facilities, rooms are cleaned really well, staff are always very attentive. To be able to access the grotta is a real highlight, it's an incredible place, much bigger than expected and the facilities are again outstanding. Spa had a lot of choice, the outdoor swimming pools were unexpected given we visited in December and it was never too busy, often it was just us. There are also lots of hiking options from just next to the property, starting from inside the hotel grounds. "

"This is a beautiful hotel, easily accessed by one of the portals to the city. There is limited parking available on site. The lobby and breakfast area are lovely, Staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in one of the family rooms and it was large, comfortable, well decorated, quiet, and a short walk from the main hotel. We used the bikes cycling on the city walls; it was super convenient to have those on site. I would highly recommend this hotel for families."

"Decided to stay here because of the 5 star reviews and wasn’t disappointed. Yes it’s the opposite side of Lucca to the train station and outside the city walls but it was only a 30 minute walk because Lucca is so tiny. Gave me the opportunity to get my bearings. And only a 5 minute walk back to the wall. Was able to check in just after 11am. Room was huge as was the bathroom & both immaculately clean. And there was a kettle! Breakfast was fantastic and laid out with great care. Lovely...
