"We walked in an apartment with dust and dirt on the floor, mould behind toilet door, mould on kitchen glass tray. They said this apartment was closed for some time. Housekeeping staff should be trained to check on details. Would not recommend for families who are particular about cleanliness. The management needs to take feedback seriously without giving excuses for lapses."

"Perfect for the start of our holiday. Large apartment with everything needed to prepare own meals (we didn’t as eating out is very inexpensive) and close to a large supermarket. All the staff are very pleasant and helpful. We walked or used a tuk tuk to everywhere we wanted to visit. Recommended. "

"First of all it’s says on your website it is a hotel which is not there it is apartment building with date common areas There is no staff who can take my luggage there was no restaurant, no coffee shop, no tea or coffee in the room, no fridge in the room no hair dryer there is a long list which is missing Not happy at all Plus I couldn’t leave that place because it was 2am"

"Property was clean in general, but needs to be maintained. Cupboard was broken, furniture was stained, pool area needs some love too, not inviting at all. Breakfast was generally ok when it arrived on time. Communication online was good but face to face was difficult and we speak the language. "Great to be met at the airport by the owner, no stress about finding the place, friendly chat. Room was disappointing noticed the smell of cigarette smoke on walking in and never got away from it. I booked a NON smoking room. Location quite central, despite the high level still heard all the horns and caught the sunrise as there were no block-out curtains. "We have one transit night in Colombo and choose this suit apparyment for family stay. The appartment was very neat and clean as well as secure with all facilities including stat of the art swimming pool. The owner Mr. Don was very helpful and supportive and assist us in all manners. The only drawback is you probably unable to go outside without necessary security access that can be granted during morning time."

A beautiful traditional hotel in a prime situation

"This is a beautiful traditional hotel with lots of memorabilia from famous people who have stayed there. It is spacious and comfortable with many choices of restaurants serving a variety of foods. The only downside is in wet weather many outdoor tables/seating aren’t usable. We particularly enjoyed the high tea and watching the criminal lowering of the flag at dusk. All staff members are courteous and friendly."

"We stayed for two nights. ALL of the staff are BRILLIANT and looked after us really well. The room was spacious and the rain-shower incredible… probably the best I’ve had. The on-site Indian restaurant was excellent as was breakfast. Easy to walk around the area and just 5 minutes to Park Street for loads of good dining options. Wholeheartedly recommend Taj Samudra. Thank you."
