"The best place to stay. This is boutique accommodation on a quiet street, a short drive to the main attractions. I loved being surrounded by nature in the pool, seeing beautiful birds and monkeys in the trees, bats and fireflies at night. Staying here was the highlight of our time in Galle. "The Hilltop Boosa is a wonderful find. The rooms are not just big they are huge. very clean and comfortable. Our hosts were both friendly & helpful. We ate here each night and the food was excellent. We borrowed bikes ans were able to explore the local area. Transport was available if we wanted to go further afield. We really could not fault anything about Hilltop and we hope to be able to return"

"Good: The beach. The pool. The variety of dining options. The hotel though in several areas like the rooms, lifts etc could be cleaner / better maintained. The AC struggled to lower the room temp below 24C. The light in the cupboard where the safe is located would not switch off. Flushing the toilet resulted in it running for over 5 minutes. The grout on the shower enclosures could do with the occasional clean with bleach…. Not what I expected of a hotel with such high daily charges."

"Hikkaduwa Beach Hotel is located right on the beach, the ocean is just a step away. We couldn't have asked for a better location. The restaurant is open for limited time frames but room service is available throughout the day. Loved the view from our room, to get the sea view you have to book premium sea view. Comfortable beds and pillows. The staff was courteous and helpful. The Wi-Fi was spotty especially during peak usage but the view, the sea, sun and sand make up for it. Food service maybe...

Please get a grip on breakfast service!

"This is a generally excellent hotel. No more on that need be said. You won't be disappointed. Except that the breakfast tea is terrible. There is just one thing that we noticed on our last day. Breakfast is from 7am, our taxi was a 0730, a fairly typical departure time with either a flight or busy day scheduled. So, any hotel guest who is there right on 7am is likely to be on a short timescale. The hotel should recognise this, and the staff should be aware. It felt like nobody was really interested in offering any service until it was too late. No shortage of politeness and smiles! - just glacially slow service until someone got the message and barked a few orders."

"We had such a pleasant stay at this property. It was so calm and serene. With a stunning view of the fort. There's a small safe area to swim in the ocean as the rest of the sea is quite dangerous. A nice warm pool that offers the same view and peaceful vibe. The dining option for us was a paid dinner that had authentic Sri Lankan food. It wasn't short of any flavour and they did not cut corners - this is coming from a Sri Lankan. The next time I come from Canada and need to visit Galle. I will stay here again without hesitation"
