Shop at the Carnival Village, dine at the Golden Kinnaree Buffet Restaurant and enjoy theatrical entertainment at the Phuket Fantasea theme park.
Take a seat in the Palace of the Elephants, a 3,000-seat-theatre and watch the story of the Legend of the Kingdom, performed through music, dance and fireworks. A highlight of the show is the towering figure of Prince Kamala astride a magical elephant.
This 140-acre (56-hectare) theme complex offers many different areas to explore. Head to the Carnival Village Shopping Street to buy trinkets and elephant-related souvenirs. Take a moment to stop and enjoy the street performers, say hello to one of the carnival mascots or enjoy a meal on the Kamala pier. Watch as local craftspeople demonstrate a range of traditional art and craft. Visit the Kamala Pier Beer Garden for a selection of local and international beers.
After you have explored the village, visit one of the park’s key attractions, the Golden Kinnaree buffet restaurant. The restaurant is located in a large dining hall located next to the serene Lotus Lake. As you eat, observe the statues of the Kinnarees, the magnificent half-bird, half-women of Thai mythology.
Children will enjoy the games and the characters in the underwater-themed Similan Entertainment Centre. The adventurous should explore the theatrical Tiger Jungle Safari to see 12 exotic and mythical scenes inspired by legend and folklore. Don’t miss the chance to hold a tiger cub in the theatre lounge.
Phuket Fantasea, located on Kamala Beach, offers combination tickets for the buffet and the show. While the admission price is fairly high for Thai standards, the show provides an evening’s worth of family entertainment and a glimpse into Thai history and culture. Ample parking spots are provided and transport shuttles can be booked online from hotels to Phuket Fantasea.
