"The hotel was our base for 4 days while walking the Snowies Alpine trail. It was basic but had comfortable beds, good showers and reasonable space. The balcony wasn’t accessible because it was in need of serious renovation. The food in the restaurant was just OK (it was the only place open for food in the village at the time we were there). "

"Great staff, very helpful and knowledgeable. Close to all facilities. Just be aware there is no air-conditioning when come in summer. Staff were great providing a portable cooler which helped a lot. Car parking was difficult to find at first but eventually found a good spot close by. "

"Great location, place has hotel and motel style rooms. The former has underground parking. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The only gripe we had was the lack of liquid hand wash soap in the dispenser and the inability to find someone to address it (it was a contactless process.) "

"We stayed at Alpine Gables as a gateway to Thredbo for mountain biking. The accommodation was comfortable and parking very easy and felt safe leaving our bikes on the back of the car in the carpark. Having easy access to Woolworths for groceries, and directly across from the lake for a quick dip was great. "

"Accommodation good location and easy access to the lifts for MTB'ing. Would be good if better facility for storing bikes as the room was full when we arrived. Bring lock to chain your bike in the room. Missing fly screen on one of the windows which was required as we had to leave the windows open as the apartments get warm in summer and there is no aircon. Food from the onsite restaurant for dinner is average and would suggest eating elsewhere. This was the biggest disappointment. Included...

Comfy and friendly on snow accommodation

"We loved our stay at Smiggins Hotel, it was so lovely to be staying on the snow and see the slopes right outside our window. The accommodation had everything we needed. Staff were super friendly and helpful! The lounge area was a nice bonus as somewhere to rest during lunchtime away from the crowds. "

"Our time at Lions Lair was wonderful…. Winter WONDERLAND! Michael and Rowena we amazing, they were warm, welcoming, accommodating, helpful and full of tips and wealth of knowledge. The location was just perfect, we walked to Smiggin holes and when we travelled to Perisher it was a 5 min trip in a free shuttle bus. We also walked to our snow/ski hire place, Rhythm Smiggins. My husband and I travelled with 4 young children and we all really enjoyed our breakfast served each day. A big thank you to Lions Lair, and we HIGHLY RECOMMEND others to stay here. "
