"Good value for money. The name is very deceptive, as the hotel is on a canal that leads to an industrial harbor. The room is very large with a 5 star bathroom. The air conditioning and lighting were good but very hard to figure out, as there were no English instructions."

"Really lovely ryokan and onsen with beautiful ocean views. The futons were very comfortable, as well. It's a little outside of Wakayama city (about 30 minutes/¥3500 by taxi), but there is a nearby bus and they have a parking area if you are driving. The staff speaks a little English, but don't expect the same level of English that you might get at a larger, urban hotel. Overall, it was very relaxing and I would definitely recommend it."

Hotel is pretty old and rooms are small sized. Bathroom is pretty compact which is typical of Japanese hotels. "Amazing hotel with an even better view. I had a superb view of Wakayama’s castle straight from my hotel room. Of course the staff were nice and the room was clean and comfortable. The location is brilliant although it is about a 15-20 minute walk to one of the two close by train stations. I would strongly recommend this hotel for the view! "

"The location is perfect for getting around town, there’s a bus right in front of the hotel, the rooms have everything you need minus a microwave, but there is one on the 7 floor for use. Room cleaning is every 3 days. Overall no issues"
