"My husband and I stayed here as part of a trip to Japan to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. The staff made us feel welcome and the decor was so wonderful! We really enjoyed the private hot tub in our traditional tatami room. As for the kaiseki dinner, it was delicious but I wasn't prepared for the sheer amount of food! I am not a very big eater (at night) and the successive services impressed me a lot! I think it would have been a suitable amount of food for 3 people. Unfortunately for me, I couldn't make it to the end and ended up wasting some of the meal. As I know Japanese etiquette requires you to finish every thing so as to not waste, I felt bad for a while after. 申しわけありませんでした! Hakone was a quiet moment to ourselves, nestled between Kyoto and Tokyo during our trip. We had a lovely time, thank you!"

"We arrived too early to check in but the staff who was there on the morning of 2/11 was so helpful in getting us situated with lockers to store our luggage until check-in time. We appreciated the helpfulness and patience of the staff member that day. She and another staff member were there at check-in at 3:00 and again they were so helpful. We would stay there again. The hotel is also so convenient due to being in walking distance to Atami Station as well as to bus and taxi hubs."

"We stayed two nights in a Japanese room with private open-air bath. It was fantastic. The room was clean, modern and had everything we needed. Words cannot describe the private open air bath which we used as much as possible. We had dinner and breakfast included - these meals may be challenging for western tastes but if you're feeling adventurous, go for it! Unfortunately the public bath was closed when we visited so I cannot comment on this."

"What an incredible gem! We had a wonderful and memorable experience. Luggage drop off before check-in and then check-in itself was seamless (we arrived early and we just followed the instructions at the front entrance to label our bags and place inside the doors, and when we came back the bags were already in our room). Staff is very friendly and helpful. We were able to select our onsen times (one evening and one morning bath) at check-in and as they had availability, we were lucky and were able to do a third one! The facilities themselves are great! All the onsens were fantastic, and it's nice they are all private. Highly recommend the traditional dinner option, it was delicious, well worth it, and a highlight of our trip. The breakfast was lovely. Definitely our favourite stay and would love to come back again! P.s- if getting off at Gora station, yep that is one steep hill to climb to the ryokan! We had carry-on size backpacks and I'm still happy we took the cable car two stops further as per the instructions we received from the ryokan even though it was busy and a bit of a wait (or with more luggage the taxi is likely we'll worth it. It's really not that far, 15ish min, but quite the hill!). The ryokan was also very prompt in responding to my messages prior to arrival, and that was much appreciated. "We had such an amazing stay at this hotel, our stay was only two nights and we wish we could have stayed longer. Not only was the hotel clean, quiet, and easy to get to, but the view from our room was beyond amazing. The ammenities were so lovely, with a quiet onsen spa with views of Fuji, and easy access to a hiking trail that leads to a beautiful viewpoint up on the hills. If youre looking for a luxury hotel with once in a lifetime views of mt Fuji, this is the place for you. "
