This Hampton inn is my favorite hotel in the bay area. I am a repeat customer. But last week I had to get home early before my dad passed away over the weekend. And I requested a cancelation before midnight the night before. But they didn't agree to refund my canceled day. Even Expedia reached out and the answer was still no. That was a big disappointment

Worst hotel experience I've ever had in 30 years! They checked us in incorrectly which led to some sort of error on their part. A male staff came into our room while we were sleeping at around 2am. When we awoke, he told us we had to get our things and leave the room b/c another guest was supposed to be in that room. It was as if we were being accused of scamming the hotel to get into that room. It was frightening and I may never stay at a Hilton hotel ever again!

With the property backed up to the bay and the wetlands… it was pretty cool seeing the different birds flying by. Staff was super nice and friendly. It is in Oakland so you need to be careful but it did feel like we were far enough away that it was not a problem.

For the third time in the many times I have stayed here, my room that I ordered and paid for in advance was given away. This seems to happen when I check in after 8 pm. Management at the front desk has told me that because I reserve with Expedia, they cannot hold the room. While the property is fine, I'm really tired of not having confidence that what I reserve for online will be what I get. On this last visit, I was given a handicap room which I didn't order, and I felt bad taking as someone might have needed it. I had no other option.
