"The hotel was very empty not sure why I was placed in a room with a view of the roof on the second floor. The restaurant was nice. There was hair on the bathroom floor and a wrapper under the sink counter but otherwise clean. Found street parking right outside the entrance late evening which was nice. "

"This is a wonderful property. A classic architectual gem meets modernity. I read some of the negative comments and was baffled. Ticky-tack travelers who like to whine I assume. For the price, you will not find elegance and superb service like this anywhere in the country. Kudos to all at the Pere. Thank you."

"The staff was welcoming, an helpful. I think the property could use some updates with decore an house cleaning. My stay was great but house keeping was half done. Toliets not clean,floor dirty,an showers had hair in the tub an drain. But overall the stay was great breakfast was awsome had a litttle bit of everything. Do think the juice machine needs to be fixed all the juices tasted like water.."

"Wife has had a rough few months and the two days before we stayed had been especially brutal. We booked the hot tub suite because we thought she would be able to use it, unfortunately she couldn’t get in so she definitely enjoyed the walk in shower. And she hadn’t slept more than a couple hours at a time but she managed to sleep mostly through the night and well into the morning. "Hotel has a beautiful carved maple lobby, beautiful view of the illinois river & friendlt and accomodating staff. Rooms are nice. Some of the hallways etc could use some updating. Nice and quiet with excellent complimentary coffee in the mornings. Irish pub within walking distance as well as excellent pizza at Hoops Pizza and beer. Also located next to I 74 with wasy access"
