"Where hotels go to die. Checked in (office help very nice), it was 100deg & when I got 1/2 my luggage in I sat down to try the tv. Both the tvs didn't work. Got another room & the door card (2) didn't work, was told they had problems with batteries in lock. Finally got a 3rd room, nice enough, but the bathroom door was falling off."

"Alamo plaza is under construction so it was a little hard to find but once we found it it is AMAZING. If you like Texas history, the Menger is the place to stay. We looked at old photos in the hallway for over an hour alone. The room was very clean and comfortable, the staff friendly, professional and efficient. Well worth the trip. "
