The staff was very courteous & helpful. The lobby & common areas were clean & well-attended. Our rooms were, however, rather run-down & not very clean. There was also a smell of old food (takeout?) in room 2718 that was overpowering when walking in. Also, sink water would get very hot, but the shower was not even like-warm. The overall experience was less accommodating than I would expect or feel we paid for. It was disappointing. As stated, the bag service by the staff was helpful (to be able to leave bags before & after check-in & check-out).

Unfortunately, our experience at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan was disappointing. Upon arrival, we dropped off our bags to store them until check in time and asked if anything else was needed. The staff member assisting us responded with, “Tip for the services,” which felt unprofessional and inappropriate. To make matters worse, the customers before us were not asked to tip and left without doing so, making the situation feel inconsistent and unfair. While we always tip when picking up our bags, being asked for a tip at that moment was unexpected and off putting. Check in was equally frustrating. When we approached the front desk, the woman working there told us she would be right back, only to leave us waiting for 15–20 minutes without explanation. The room itself was outdated, which was surprising given the high cost over $900 with taxes for one night. To make matters worse, the bathtub was clogged and wouldn’t drain. We had to call the front desk and wait for someone to come fix it, adding to our dissatisfaction.Overall, the poor customer service, outdated accommodations, and lack of attention to detail made this stay far from what we expected, especially at such a premium price. I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience.

The hotel is convenient and walking distance to subway, shops, and of course Times Square. The beds were comfortable and up on the 34th floor you could hear the noise from Times Square but it wasn’t bad at all. We stayed during Christmas so we paid a high price for it’s value. The rooms are outdated, bed sheets were stained, and no mini fridge but the location was excellent.

Property is very dated we stayed here over Christmas and the weather got very warm up to 78 degrees in the room and there is no way to turn the a/c on. Reason is staff told us there was only heat available thru the system at this time of year. Also shower wasn’t working properly took about 5-10 minutes to get the warm water to heat up than was very difficult to control the temperature. Basic comforts that you think would be more priority seemed to be lacking. Not the worst but definitely NOT the best.

Our room was too warm and we could not get it cooled off. They said someone in engineering was going to look into it but the problem never got corrected and I received no feedback. Also I requested additional coffee packets for the in room coffee maker and never got them. Poor service for what I paid for that room.

The property is going to be renovated early January due to being closed throughout covid many things were not working like the heat in our room this is how I learned about this. We were freezing knowing this they should tell you before you stay here. They provided a small heater but I was not happy sleeping in the cold. The toilet seat was also broken otherwise the location is perfect to walk everywhere and go right out into the NYC Times Square experience!

When we checked in, they gave us a room that was already occupied . Thankfully, no one was there. But I’d be pretty upset if someone walked in on me or my things. The next room was ok but had to let the water run for about 5-10 minutes because it looked brown. Not the best place I’ve ever stayed!
