"Property is quirky if you like a medieval setting. We booked king size bed and lake view. We got 2 single beds and the lake view was a very small piece of water between buildings on either side of the street. Reception were not helpful, arguing we had what we booked but I don’t think that is correct. No alternative was offered nor any discount for our disappointment. "The location of this hotel is quite a bit outside of the village, but the walk into town along the lake is so pleasant, it actually was a plus. The town was surprisingly charming and so much more interesting than we were led to believe. (We almost prefer it over Lindau for its charm.)The cobblestoned streets, the lake promenade with several waterside restaurants and cafes, the wineries, the upper town and lower town were fantastic. "Recks is managed by the same family and they do it all... the cuisine is excellent, the hotel is well appointed and the property is beautiful. Everyone was super helpful and super nice. Although the hotel is old, the rooms are really large and pretty and clean, and everything works well. Spring was blooming at the hotel gardens and it was quite a sight... highly reccomend. "

"Meersburg and the hotel were something of a revelation to us. Only there for an overnight stay but will certainly be back. Our room was pleasant, clean, seemingly recently refurbished, and very well appointed / designed / set out, with guests’ convenience in mind. The hotel is directly on the lakeside, and our room looked out on to the ferry quay. Peaceful and beautiful. Parking is limited but we were offered a space just a couple of minutes walk away from the hotel - €15, which we thought was a bit steep. One other inconvenience was that breakfast is served in a sister hotel about 200 metres away, though a little electric shuttle is provided, if needed. This was more than compensated for, however, by the magnificent breakfast spread! A huge range of quality food and one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve had."
