This was the best option for our budget, but the locals told us that this is actually where the guys from the railroad stay. Didn’t get room service the entire stay of one week. Overall we were happy with the place but I wouldn’t stay there alone.

We were a quick walk away from Hedge Creek Falls which was a bonus. The room was large and clean and we were very close to the town of Dunsmuir. Really liked our stay!

This property has a few quirks such as check in at the diner across the parking lot, and no coffee maker in the room (you had to ask for one - we missed the sign at check in and the employee who checked us in did not mention this) but overall a good experience - it is clean, the cleaning lady we ran into was very friendly as were all of the staff at the diner, our room was on the back side and quiet, and the property is easy to find with a 24-hour diner across the parking lot. Very cute town and great hiking nearby so all in all a good pit stop on our way from the Bay area to Portland.

For its location and size, this motel exceeded my expectations! The amenities were comfortable and pleasant; everything we needed was provided; and their towels and toilet paper were thicker and softer than those in even the more upscale motels where we stayed!

No elevator! Downgraded to a double bed - ouch!
We reserved a king bed. When we arrived the manager told us there was no elevator. I can not do stairs, so she put us in a "queen" room but the bed certainly was smaller than that -- more like a double. We had a very restless night in this small bed. There was nothing on the web site indicating there was no elevator. The photo shows a 3-story building, so it implies an elevator.
