"Nice small hotel close to the beach, town and bars etc. Nice pool and bar area and food is good (we had to pay extra for breakfast). Ideal for a short break, the hotel arranged turtle swimming for us and can organise many other trips, also Spa on site. We had travelled from Tissa and first impressions here was that Marissa was very touristy and the route to the “secret beach” is a rubbish strewn dirt track, however once we settled in, we enjoyed the area."

"I loved my stay here, as the room was spacious and clean. The bed was super-comfy, with a medium-hard mattress. Slept SOOOOO well. Get the breakfast to start your day well - fruit plate, Sri Lankan omelette, coffee, tea, juice. The staff speak moderate English, and will make every attempt to ensure your stay is comfortable. Although this establishment is located well Google Maps is NOT to be trusted! Maps will take you to a location over the nearby creek (which stinks during the day)....

"Mirissa is a popular area 3 hrs south of Colombo airport. Bed was comfortable. The property was down a narrow alley on a rocky no swim beach. The pool was green, in need of a good cleaning and Chem treatment. The towel rack in our room was broken and the shower pressure was 2/10. The staff were pleasant but ill equipped. For the price we expected much more."

"The staff was amazing the chef made some of the best food I have ever tasted!! He was very sweet and very involved in all aspects of the villas. The curry was out of this world as well as the pasta 10 out of 10 all around. The room was large and beautiful, you felt like you had the place to yourself very highly recommend!!!"

"Just an absolutely awful hotel. Do not be fooled by the photos, they are from around a decade ago. Everything is old, broken, full of ants and dead flies, the showers have no doors, the pool looks like a horror film. Some other guests had a party until 5am and when we tried to find a member of staff to complain to there was no-one all night. And then they claimed the next morning there was no party. We tried to ask for a partial refund but the owner refused and made us pay 100%. The...

"Loved this hotel, great location just far enough away from the very touristy Mirissa Beach. Easy walk or tuk tuk to town. Pool was small but clean & great after a day sightseeing in Galle. Very close to Turtle Beach. Lovely eateries nearby....would recommend restaurant 101, only a few minutes walk away. Would definitely stay here again if in the area."
